Sedona

How can one drive from Flagstaff, Arizona, down to Phoenix without making a sidetrip to Sedona?  The answer: you can’t!  Which is why we found ourselves driving the extra half hour last night to spend the night in Sedona.  Sedona is one of Thom’s favorite places in the world — he loves the red rocks, the distinctive shapes and just the plain feel of the place.  Though we drove 12 hours yesterday it was totally worth it to wake up and look out our window and see the rock formations.

Earlier in the day we picked up Ryan in New Mexico, where he is a college student.  Here is the house he lives in, with four other young adult males.

Yes, the inside of the house looks like what you’d think a house of young adult males would look like without their mothers to clean up after them.  I popped an Airborne when I got back in the car so think I’ll be ok.

On to my mom’s in Wickenburg, AZ, for lunch, and then to California for the duration of our stay in the U.S.
